India Meteorological Department or IMD has stated in a latest update yesterday that a depression has formed over northwest Bay of Bengal and adjoining areas of North Odisha-West Bengal coasts. It noted that heavy to very heavy rainfall at a few places with isolated extremely heavy rainfall likely over Chhattisgarh, Madhya Maharashtra on 05th & 06th July; Odisha on 05th July; Konkan & Goa, Gujarat Region during 05th-07th; Saurashtra & Kutch on 05th July, 2026. IMD expects further progress in rainfall as conditions are favourable for further advance of southwest monsoon into some more parts of North Arabian Sea, Gujarat, remaining parts of Haryana & Punjab, and some more parts of Rajasthan during next 3 days.
