According to the latest data from the Gujarat Agriculture Directorate, the latest sowing data showed that the total acreage under summer crops stood at 12.71 lakh hectares as on 29 June 2026, down 62.50% compared to the same period last year. Area under total cereals stood at 0.38 lakh hectares, up 6.40% on year. Pulses area slumped by 83% at 0.05 lakh hectares. Oilseeds area fell by 73% on year to 4.29 lakh hectares. Area under Groundnut - the major commodity in the oilseeds group fell 73.30% to 4.12 lakh hectares. In other major commodities, acreage under Cotton slumped by 51% to 6.83 lakh hectares.
