Producer prices in the Eurozone and the entire European Union rose by 0.2% in May, when compared to the previous month, the European Commission's statistical office, Eurostat, revealed in a report released on Monday. Meanwhile, year over year, the index recorded a 5.9% growth in the euro area and 5.7% the EU.
In the Eurozone, on a monthly basis, energy prices and non-durable consumer goods decreased 1.0% and 0.1%, respectively. Meanwhile, intermediate goods, capital goods, and durable consumer goods increased 1.4%, 0.2% and 0.3%, respectively. In the entire bloc, the prices showed the same increases and the same rises in the same manner described for the euro area.
